Position Description:

CGI, a leader in providing IT and Business Processing Outsourcing Services, is seeking a Mobile Application Developer to join the team in Waterville, MN to support an Application Development & Maintenance team. The position requires an energetic professional who is a self-starter with strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. This position will work with the Application Development & Maintenance Team. The position is a full-time, on-site position in Waterville Maine.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Provide thought leadership on mobile excellence and best practices

• Assist with integration and usability testing

• Participate in discovery and user experience design process

• Create prototypes, and evaluate new technologies

• Create readable, testable, scalable and maintainable source code utilizing best practices

• Provide technical leadership to delivery teams

• Work with testing team to find and resolve defects

• Provide application support with on call availability

• Interact with vendors regarding support and integration

• Develop tasks lists and estimations

• Collaborate with senior software developers to project scope, and detailed tasks

• Mentor other developers in mobile app development.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

At least 1 year of hands-on mobile app development experience

Solid knowledge of mobile app development practices, along with mobile testing tools and techniques

Experience developing/integrating responsive Web applications

Experience using agile principals and methodologies

Understanding of mobile landscape (Differences in iOS v/s Android) is mandatory

Understanding of emerging technologies, standards and best practices for mobile development

Experience using web services (HTTP, REST, SOAP) using JSON, XML

Familiar with JavaScript libraries, such as jQuery, Angular, React, Vue, iOS & Android SDK’s

Experience with source control, such as GIT, Mercurial.

Desired Skills (pluses, not essential)

• Experience integrating mobile solutions with backend services

• Experience developing mobile applications using React Native

• At least 1 year of development experience with C# or Java

• Deployed applications to commercial platforms like iTunes App Store and Google Play

• Experience using Xamarin is a plus

Required Skillset:

C#: 1-2 years' experience with a high proficiency level

Java: 1-2 years' experience with a high proficiency level

Web Services (HTTP, REST, SOAP) using JSON, XML: 1-2 years' experience with a high proficiency level

JavaScript libraries:1-2 years' experience with a good proficiency level

Team work; written & verbal communications

Ability to solve problems and conduct research in order to address knowledge gaps

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
