Position Description:

CGI is looking for an Entry Level BI SQL Developer to join the team in Waterville, Maine. CGI, a leader in providing IT and Business Processing Outsourcing Services, is seeking a BI/SQL Developer to support a data and reporting team. The position requires an energetic professional who is a self-starter with strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. This position will work with the Reporting and Data Analysis Team in Waterville Maine. The position is a full-time, on-site position in Waterville, Maine.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Design, development and maintenance of a reporting system, including creation of optimal interactive dashboards, ad-hoc query and analysis, interactive reporting, enterprise reporting and analytics, proactive detection and alerts.

Understand and effectively handle the dynamics around a small data warehouse and ETL automation project. Includes analysis, design, development/modification/enhancement, implementation, and troubleshooting, monitoring, performance improvement and administration functions.

Develop and maintain operational metrics.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Essential Skills

Understanding of database concepts – working knowledge of selects, updates, inserts, and joins

Strong analytical skills.

Good understanding of the SDLC processes and practices.

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work in a dynamic environment

Desired Skills (pluses, not essential)

Understanding of SQL skills with ability to write queries, CTEs(Common Table Expressions), stored procedures and functions.

Knowledge in data warehouse and data modeling concepts.

Experience with ETL development, preferably SSIS (MS-SQL server integration services)

Ability to create transformations and mappings with minimal supervision

Experience in scheduling SSIS batch jobs using SQL server Agent.

Experience with integration services catalog and package configuration.

Ability to troubleshoot issues in ETL jobs and reports.

Knowledge of Business intelligence tools like SAP Business Objects or Cognos.

Knowledge in developing reports and dashboards in web intelligence or crystal reports.

Knowledge in developing metadata layer like SAP BO universes or Information Design tool.

Knowledge in designing data warehouse and ETL frameworks

Experience using a programming language (R, Python)

REQUIRED SKILLSET:

SQL - 1+ years' experience

Database concepts - 1+ years' experience

Data Models - 1+ years' experience

ETL, preferably SSIS - 1+ years' experience

Knowledge of BI tools (Business Objects, Cognos) - 1+ years' experience

Team work; written & verbal communications

Ability to solve problems and conduct research in order to address knowledge gaps

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
