Position Description:

The Sunflower Asset Management solution is a web-based and mobile enterprise asset management software tool used by federal agencies, contractors, national labs, state and local government organizations, and higher educational institutes. Technical specialists and software engineers on our team work in the Washington DC metro area supporting federal and contractor customers. Work duties include: on-site customer support at federal agencies, end user helpdesk support through phone calls and email, new solution implementation which includes system design and development such as custom code, system integration, data migration, and code deployment.

The Software Engineer works both independently and as part of a team to meet deliverables in a timely manner. Completes assigned tasks in an efficient manner. Assumes quality assurance responsibility and necessary documentation of assigned tasks. Works aggressively to develop his/her technical skills, and learns from more experienced team members. All technical team members receive Sunflower software and asset management training prior to providing customer support.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Work closely with the client and functional team member(s) to assist in gathering requirements, developing and documenting the design, developing the solution, unit testing, and implementing technical solutions such as interfaces, extensions, and customizations.

• Identify and resolve application issues and develop system enhancements.

• Work as a member of a team on software implementations or operations and maintenance engagements.

• Support the development of new software and tools to enhance the company’s software and product offerings.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline.

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in SQL/PLSQL, Workflow, Oracle Forms, Reports, OA Framework

• Experience with software development life cycle of a web-based system including implementation, operations support and maintenance.

• Analytical ability and creativity to analyze and implement software solutions that meet business and functional requirements.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize and collaborate with on-site and remote teams.

• Hands on experience in the last 2 years to design, code, test, debug, maintain existing or new interfaces, extensions, customizations and reports using Oracle Developer Tools.

• Strong Experience with Oracle Forms, Reports, SQL/PLSQL, Workflows, and JAVA.

• Performance analysis and tuning of reports, interfaces, customizations and extensions.

• Programming skills in either C/C++ or Visual Basic.

• Follow established software development standards and procedures.

• Experience with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).

• Strong oral and written communications skills.

• Detail-oriented multi-tasker.

• Bachelor’s Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline.
