Your future duties and responsibilities:
The Senior Strategist will be required to develop strategies and plans for a variety of compliance and operational improvement initiatives.
Develop detailed plans describing what steps the client could take over time to: improve the use of data, identify where it makes sense to request more data once the effectiveness of the existing data is proven and identify opportunities to transform capabilities over time
Survey and analyze current compliance efforts; create, test and monitor potential new operational strategies to reduce fraud and create recommendations for future testing, case selection and treatment streams
Provide key business input into the development of statistical models
Translate client objectives and requirements for technical team members
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
BS/BA or advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, accounting, economics, finance or other technical disciplines
10+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience in transformation or strategic initiatives
Proven strategy consulting experience including development of problem statements and best-in-class approaches, identification of relevant data, analysis, planning and decision support; demonstrated ability to successfully assist the client in implementing strategies and quantifying outcomes by showing a monetary return or savings
Experience detecting fraud in federal/state governments or private sector financial services industry using statistical modeling
Subject-matter expertise and experience in the areas of fraud prevention, identity authentication, asset optimization, and collection
Experience with leading comprehensive, large scale process change from start to finish; including, change management, use of non-IT systems as well as complex and inflexible IT systems and communications
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate the strategy or data analysis to a senior, non-analytical audience while simultaneously being able to work effectively with mid-level, operational managers and analysts on the same topic
US citizenship or permanent US resident with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance required
All work will be performed on client site in Washington, D.C.
Understanding and knowledge of the mission, goals and future vision of federal/state tax agencies and their stakeholders (taxpayers, tax preparers and oversight agencies)
Experience with modernizing and improving federal/state tax administration; including improving the collection and audit of public revenues with the aim of increasing voluntary compliance and decreasing tax evasion
Experience with analyzing and interpreting tax legislation and associated regulations and policy
Understanding and knowledge of relational databases, finance, process, data architecture and data sources
Active Public Trust clearance
