Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Administrative Specialist to support the COPS division of DOJ in Washington, DC.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Administrative Specialist will work closely with the On-Site Supervisor assisting in daily assignments; tasks shall include writing and editing departmental documents such as program guides and award manuals, program and process fact sheets and/or other published documents. Complete data processing quality checks, and perform and oversee grants administrative tasks (e.g., reviewing agency progress reports and close-out documentation) as required; will perform budget reviews, identify programmatic and compliance issues on various grant reports, and assist with grantee outreach.

Administrative Specialist must have the ability to:

  • Review progress reports and conduct necessary outreach to either the grantee or a COPS Grant Program Specialist. Look for programmatic issues as well as user issues

  • Put together FOIA requests for upper management. This is basically going into the system and pulling the requested documents and putting together zip folders

  • Pull drawdown history and send them to management

  • Find errors in the progress report system and come up with possible solutions

  • Create excel spreadsheets with information regarding grantee information. For instance, create a spreadsheet with all Alaska tribes and their funding history

  • Train new members on the different systems and provide them with the necessary steps to complete their tasks

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Education – high school or equivalent.

• General Experience – 2 years of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

• Specific Experience – 1 year experience that provides the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position to coordinate a wide-variety of clerical duties.

Must be able to successfully pass a CGI Federal background investigation

Must be able to obtain DOJ MRPT clearance

Bachelors degree preferred
