Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking an Interior Design- Space Management Specialist to support the Justice Management Division, Facilities and Administrative Services Staff in DC.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
This individual will be assigned projects where they assume overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
The individual will use Microsoft Project to organize their tasks and workforce and MS-Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel to support their work.
Roles and Responsibilities
The role of the project manager encompasses many activities including:
Planning and Defining Scope
Activity Planning and Sequencing
Resource Planning
Developing Schedules
Time Estimating
Cost Estimating
Developing a Budget
Developing Risks Factors and Mitigation Strategies
Communication with management, customers, and service providers (eg: GSA)
Documentation
Creating Charts and Schedules
Risk Identification and Management
Monitoring and Reporting Progress
Team Leadership
Complete and submit interagency agreement forms 7600A and 7600B for furniture purchases.
Track production, delivery, and installation of furniture orders.
Interior Design Element
This individual will perform space planning and interior design. Typical duties include investigating, identifying, and documenting client needs; analyzing needs, proposing options and, working with the client, developing specific solutions; developing design documents, including contract working drawings and specifications; and, as appropriate, managing design projects performed in-house or by contract. The work requires applying knowledge from a variety of such fields as:
Interior construction - building systems and components, building codes, equipment, materials, and furnishings, working drawings and specification, codes and standards
Contracting - cost estimates, bid proposals, negotiations, contract awards, site visits during construction, pre- and post-occupancy evaluations
Facility operation - maintenance requirements, traffic patterns, security and fire protection
Aesthetics - sense of scale, proportion, and form; color, texture, and finishes; style and visual imagery

Qualifications
Individual will have demonstrated their knowledge by having experience within the field of project management and will have completed project management training. Concerning the interior design element, the applicant will have, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree from a program accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, or the Council for Interior Design. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have obtained a state license, having passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam. Individual should possess capacity to deploy strong creative and artistic skills to make their designs aesthetically pleasing for their clients. They select a variety of colors, textiles, fabrics and interior furnishings with the clients’ interests and tastes in mind. Individual should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a variety of other professionals (architects, engineers, contractors) to design and construct interior spaces. Individual should possess the ability to use industry accepted business and interior design IT tools examples including MS-Excel, MS- Project, Autodesk products (eg: AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchbook Pro)
Education Requirement
Bachelor of Science of Interior Design from a program accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), or its predecessor FIDER preferred, but not required.
All candidates must be able to obtain a DOJ MRPT clearance and meet all security requirements.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to: skill set level, experience and training, and licensure and certification. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.*
Hourly wage: $35.64/hr. (non-negotiable)
