CGI is looking for an Application Systems Analyst to join our International Development and Commerce (IDAC) Business Unit. This position is to provide functional, operational and application systems analysis in support of our ongoing Consular support activities, including Passports, Visa’s and American Citizen Services. The objective is to support the ongoing maintenance of legacy systems as a member of development teams, by providing functional and operational knowledge as SW engineers maintain and periodically enhance existing applications to adapt to emerging needs.
The Analyst will develop and publish user stories based on client requirements and related system architecture designs, work with developers as they implement those stories into applications, and work with the entire team to ensure the right solution is developed throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The candidate will support development and maintenance of agile artifacts used as part of Agile Scrum methodologies.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Gather, develop, and document business, functional, technical requirements associated with consular operations;
• Ability to articulate end-user needs, translating functional and operational concerns into actionable software design and development implementations;
• Ability to adapt, correct and if necessary, point out deficiencies in existing applications, and provide suggestions for improvements and changes to improve the User Experience; and,
• Modify existing, or author new user stories, test scripts, and other agile artifacts, and tracking user stories and tasks in the Scrum agile workflow system (JIRA);
• Work with developers throughout the SDLC to evaluate User Interface (UI) practices and implementation, provide an “end-user” point of view to developers as they implement changes or updates to the workflow or application interface;
• Perform functional testing and preliminary end-user testing prior to customer review/approval.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
B.A. or B.S. in Business Management, Technology Management, or Liberal Arts preferred;
1 year of experience working in, with or on consular applications, secure document processing environments, or similar automated workflow-based secure work environments;
1 year of experience documenting user stories and working with systems development and/or complex web application development teams; and,
1 year of experience in one or more of the following:
• Working in a SW development team environment, preferably utilizing Agile methodologies;
• Working in a operational systems environment, preferably utilizing SAFe methodologies and preferably following ITIL standards;
• Working in a functional/operational environment, adhering to government policies relating to production standards, security standards, and/or facility operations.
Able to obtain/hold a SECRET security clearance
Knowledge of one or more 3GL or 4GL programming languages/environments (e.g., C/C++/C#, ASP/.NET, VB, Visual Studio, etc.);
Experience in Federal or Legislative branch system application development lifecycle (SDLC);
Experience and/or knowledge of system security, information security, and information assurance
