Position Description:

The CGI GTO Organization is seeking a SQL Server DBA with experience implementing and maintaining SQL server databases in a multi tenant environment. Our DBA team supports a wide range of customers and varied applications.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Manage SQL Server environment through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. Manage all SQL Servers including SQL clusters and Availability Groups.

• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including database backups, monitoring of system health, performance, and system tuning to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

• Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations and SLA's.

• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.

• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.

• Ensure that backups are performed regularly on all databases. Restoration of database in case of an issue.

• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

• Follow change management process and perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.

• Apply latest patches to the Servers by working with other teams

• Perform DR tests.

• Share on call support with other members.

• Monitor tickets que and takes required action.

• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models

• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication and log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues.

• Good Knowledge in installation, upgrade and configuration of MS SQL Servers (2008 thru 2017) and databases in clustered and non-clustered environments

• Strong Knowledge of High Availability(HA) and Disaster Recovery(DR) options for SQL Server

• Strong knowledge of how indexes and statistics affect database performance and storage requirements.

• Document the client's database environment, processes, procedures

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and sustainment of the SQL Server environment, ensuring its operational readiness (security, health and performance), executing data loads, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams. The SQL Server environment supports an enterprise application suite of programs designed to automate the performance of our operational teams. Ensuring consistent performance of the databases is an essential job duty.

SQL Experience - 5 Years, Senior Proficiency Level

SQL Azure - 5 Years, Senior Proficiency Level

Management Studio - 5 Years. Senior Proficiency Level

SQL Server Migration - 5 Years, Senior Proficiency Level

Federation Experience - 5 Years, Senior Proficiency Level

Elastic Pool - 5 Years, Senior Proficiency Level

SQL AWS - 5 Years, Senior Proficiency Level
