The Linux System Adminsitrator will work as part of a team of contractors and federal government clients who support and maintain high profile, public facing websites. The position includes daily interaction with client leadership and coordination with the agency’s Enterprise Operation Center.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for: monitoring daily backup and recovery processes for all Client public facing website servers following the established standard operating procedures defined by the Client; reporting status to Client leadership daily; installing new Linux OS releases, configuration, upgrades, patches, and securing servers in accordance with Client and NIST policies and procedures; and diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving software and other network and system problems impacting the servers and services.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 5+ years applicable Red Hat Linux system administrator experience;
• Proficient in Rails & Shell Scripting;
• Strong analytical skills and technical expertise;
• Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and resolve problems;
• Ability to work both with a team and independently.
• Experience with government consulting.
