Position Description:

CGI has an immediate need for a AWS Solutions Architect to join our financial services team in one of our selected CGI locations. Due to the current COVID-19 status, candidates will not be required to work within the physical work location at this time. When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, they will be required to be located within the proximity of the assigned CGI location.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The AWS solution architect is responsible for cloud computing architecture and setting up a cloud governance model within the cloud CoE. Develop a technical cloud strategy, assist with cloud migration efforts, examine workload architectures, and provide guidance and/or recommendations on how high-risk issues can be addressed. Responsible for using cloud computing architecture to build secure, reliable, cost-efficient, high performance, and operationally sound applications on the Amazon Web Services (AWS). Design solutions to meet customer needs and business goals. Develop technical solutions, which involves formulating solution plans and providing guidance on AWS architectural practices. May also be required to carry out a variety of tasks such as reviewing existing environments and/or planning new ones, traveling to onsite meetings with customers, writing scripts, and working on migration.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 8-10+ years of relevant experience

• Expertise in DevOps

• Expertise in AWS CloudFormation

• Experience in AWS Cloud migration.

• Experience in Software Development preferably in Python

• Experience in Systems Design & Architecture

• Experience in SQL/NoSQL Database

• Excellent interpersonal skills with attitude towards solving problems for customers

• Good technical and analytical skills for issues troubleshooting

• Familiarity with Jira & Agile


Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field​​

At least one AWS Associate Level certification
