Position Description:

CGI is seeking a mid-level Project Manager to join our team!

You will contribute to a dynamic and determined team that will be assisting a local Northern California public sector client to successfully transform how they provide services to their citizens.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Provides overall project management responsibility for their assigned projects as directed by the Project Manager Lead

• Responsible for ensuring day-to-day project activities are completed on time and in accordance with documented processes.

These include:

 Managing, Creating and Maintaining Project Schedules

 Conducting assigned projects according to the selected enterprise project management methodology and SDLC

 Ensuring assignments are on schedule, or issues and risks affecting schedule are fully documented

 Developing reports, dashboards, and tools to assist in the management, project priorities, and cross impacts across the current State programs

 Establishing Process Improvement processes to contribute to overall efficiency

 Leading and facilitating meetings

 Providing project manager support for select projects as directed by the Project Manager Lead

 Monitoring projects’ priorities and assessing impacts

 Monitoring project change control board activities and assessing impacts

 Monitoring of deliverables for executed and new submission

 Weekly monitoring of work-stream SLA and escalating as appropriate

 Regular administrative tasks including adhoc status updates, WIP and project status reports, issue and risk updates, forecasting and prioritization, initiation of the opening and closing of new projects on the server and in the project time tracking software, and ongoing schedule update of active projects.

• Responsible for collecting and reporting status for all assigned projects and assigned deliverables

• Identifies and drives appropriate process improvement initiatives under the sponsorship of the Project Manager Lead and/or the PMO Director

• Shows leadership and organizational finesse in negotiating interim agreements and decisions that are palatable to all parties.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Attained higher education degree(s), shall possess current credentials and/or licenses in disciplines relative to the position; and shall have relative work experience in their assigned field for a minimum of five years

• Obtained professional credentials and/or license(s) in disciplines relative to the position that are valid in the state of California. Credentials and/or licenses to practice in their professional field must be current at the time of hire and remain current during the entirety of their employment

• One year recent experience with project management processes of substantive projects in a State and Local government setting is preferred

• Experience managing project’s and diverse project staff

• Demonstrated experience in maintaining clear mechanisms to manage staff and communicate project status with the project team and project stakeholders

Skill Set/Years of Experience:

Project Management - 2-3 years

MS Project - 1-2 years


Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related IT field or equivalent combination of experience and education

Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $53,000-$95,000*

Therefore, this good faith salary range will only apply where this described position will be performed in the state, and should not be considered the compensation range in other locations or for other positions.
