CGI has an immediate need for an Sr. Java FS Developer to join our financial services team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest leaders in the secondary mortgage industry. ​​This position is based in Reston, VA, Plano, TX or Columbia, SC either or anywhere in the US where CGI has an office in the Central/Eastern Time Zones.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Join a fast-paced agile team working on cloud implementation efforts. Looking for a strong Full Stack Java Developer with Java 8, Angular, ​Spring Boot, Microservices, Rest API experience. AWS experience is required.

• Advanced proficiency in Angular

• Advanced proficiency in coding in Java 8, Spring Boot technologies

• Work on the cloud transformation effort, move application components to AWS, update code, and create/run the CICD pipeline.

• Work with product owners and other development team members to determine new features and user stories needed in new/revised applications or large/complex development projects.

• Create or Update documentation in support of development efforts. Documents may include detailed specifications, implementation guides, architecture diagrams or design documents.

• Participate in code reviews with peers and managers to ensure that each increment adheres to original vision as described in the user story and all standard resource libraries and architecture patterns as appropriate.

• Participate in all agile ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives.

• Leverage client DevOps tool stack to build, inspect, deploy in cloud platform, test and promote new or updated features.

• Understand the application code with minimal assistance and resolve bugs/defects/performance issues identified.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

AWS Full Stack Java Developer - Java 8, Angular, Spring boot, and Microservices experience

10+ years of experience in development using Java, JEE, and Spring boot Framework.

4+ years of expert-level experience focused on developing web-based GUIs with JavaScript and its libraries/frameworks, including Angular, NodeJS, React, Backbone, etc., databases, XML, and JSON—experience in CSS, HTML, and SQL.

Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud (IAM, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, S3, LAMBDA, API Gateway, CloudFront, SNS, SQS, Cloudwatch).

8+ years of experience in full life cycle application/system development.

4+ years of experience developing in distributed application environments (Database, Transaction Management).

4+ years of experience writing conceptual and detailed design documents, and developing large-scale enterprise applications following an Agile execution model.

Strong hands-on Python, DB, Test drive development, and AWS technology.

Experienced in API development using Spring Boot, Angular UI, and deploying in AWS infrastructure.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD with Jenkins/ Bitbucket and/or GitLab/Terraform​.

Good communication and collaboration skills, team player.

Takes accountability/ownership for the assigned tasks/deliverables.

Familiar with GIT repositories (Bit Bucket) and Agile Methodology/SCRUM/Kanban​.

Strong Development/programming experience in Java, AWS, Python and Angular is a must.

Education Requirement:

• ​Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field​​​​​​​​​​

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $59,700.00 - $146,900.00.
