Position Description:

This is to work in a development team for a major financial customer facing application and to manage interactions for that and a 3rd party vendor application. As an API Java Developer, you should have a software development background and be able to facilitate, design, and develop technical solutions for existing Java applications and processes. You will interact with Lead Developers, System Analysts, Business Users, Architects, Test Analysts, Project Managers and peer developers to review system requirements, design and develop software solutions and enhancements. Technical solutions and supporting deliverables will be constructed to enable the client to accomplish its business objectives.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

o Design and develop applications using latest Java concepts in Spring Boot.

o Design and maintain APIs, services, and different payment sources

o Work with API developers across the teams to build new API features at large-scale

o Improve API standards and services

o Review design documents and provide feedback on approach and estimates

o Provide technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software.

o Ensure that software meets or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.

o You will complete complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities.

o You may approve technical solutions proposed by team members and elevate complex technical issues to IT experts, including architects.

o You will be expected to recommend development options, including design, build, and test.

o You will resolve technical problems discovered by the team and internal clients. Responsible for responding in a timely manner. Researching issues and performing root cause analysis.

o Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements complex software applications.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  1. 10+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java.

  2. 4+ years of experience of Rest API development and maintenance using Spring Boot.

  3. 4+ years experience working as a lead and driving high quality outcomes.

  4. Good to have working experience with Open Shift Container Platform, Docker and/or Oracle DB.

  5. Good to have some knowledge of Microservices.

  6. Basic understanding of Linux network and server configurations.

  7. Working knowledge in DevOps tools like Maven, Jenkins, uDeploy and Git.

  8. An inherent ability to solve problems and provide solutions.

  9. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  10. Good knowledge of relation database, specifically Oracle (SQL - PL/SQL)

  11. You should have hands-on experience on business process development and/or Integration with system tools.

  12. An inherent ability to solve problems and provide solutions.

  13. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
