Position Description:
Position requires travel throughout the State of New York.
CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI and a federal contractor serving public housing agencies throughout the US, has an opening for a full time Quality Control Housing Inspector in New York.
The role of the Quality Control Inspector is to perform HQS and NSPIRE inspections on Housing Choice Voucher units that previously passed inspection by other inspectors.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for performing HQS and NSPIRE Quality Control inspections of Housing Choice Voucher subsidized units.
Responsible for scheduling inspections with the voucher participants and property owners.
Produce Quality Control reports to the housing authority client.
Create and maintain a schedule to perform inspections on time.
Candidate must clearly and accurately document specific information pertaining to each dwelling unit.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Previous experience with Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and/or National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) inspections is required.
• Candidate must possess knowledge of state and building fire codes, local law and other applicable codes from the State and City.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and negotiation skills, good organizational skills, detail-oriented
• Responsible for using technology to conduct QC inspections, collecting results digitally and securely.
• Must have adaptability and tact in dealing with housing applicants, residents, property owners and real estate agencies, staff and outside agencies
• Self-starter that can work independently to assure completion of daily work assignments
• Strong computer, written and verbal skills and be able to work with a smart phone
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
• High School Graduate (College Graduate Preferred)
• Must possess a valid driver license, a good driving record and meet all state insurance requirements.
• Must have access to a reliable vehicle to conduct daily field work and be available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Inspector must be able to pay business expenses up front and then be reimbursed within a reasonable length of time per CGI's expense policy.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $44,900.00 - $97,800.00.
