Position Description:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Android Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative mobile applications. As an Android Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications.

• Use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability and security

• Actively participate in the development process through writing and maintain application features and automated tests including unit tests, component tests, integration tests, functional tests, performance tests, scenario tests and interoperability tests

• Support the team in designing reliable, accurate tests, and in integrating them into CI/CD pipelines

• Collaborate with team members on improving team's test coverage, release velocity and production health.

• Enable the team in designing and developing automation using Android Frameworks.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 6-9 years of experience with building, debugging and supporting Mobile Android applications using Java/Kotlin.

• Hands on experience with test automation frameworks using Espresso for Android

• Hands on experience in Android Studio, Android SDK, Kotlin and Gradle

• Participated in the release of one or more publicly available app to Google Play participating from feature inception to launch using automated tooling like Jenkins, Gradle, and Google Developer APIs.

• Your deep knowledge of Android design patterns including Clean Architecture. Experience building multi-module Android apps is a big plus. Experience with MVVM/MVI is also a plus.

• Good understanding of Android’s accessibility features and experience building accessible experiences on Android

• Strong understanding of modern development principles such as trunk-based development, feature toggles, and branch by abstraction to support performant and collaborative engineering teams.

• Knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies used in creating performant, resilient, and robust Android apps

• Good understanding of Android Jetpack as well as open-source libraries like Retrofit, and OkHttp to build modern, architecturally compliant, and future-ready apps

• Experience with Coroutines, Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM), and Jetpack Compose is a plus

• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and SonarQube to continuously and autonomously deliver high-quality apps to guarantee stable and performant experiences.

• Experience in delivering software in the Agile environment

• Experience working in an agile team of Android developers participating in code reviews, pull requests, and pair programming.

• Experience of Cloud technology is a must.

Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

This role must be located at the following location: Boston MA, Smithfield, RI Merrimack NH, Westlake TX

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $67,800 -$130,500.
