Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Solution Architect well-versed in Cloud Native application construction and tooling geared for delivering large scale, complex, enterprise class systems. The candidate will work on an event-based, microservices, Software as a Service (SaaS) platform designed to deliver financial credit and debt management capabilities to large commercial financial and banking institutions.

The opportunity is to be a part of the solution architecture team to research, evaluate, design, and enable critical technologies and patterns for CGI intellectual property development and delivery. The candidate should have experience taking initial concepts from incubation to production, addressing core design principles to support functional and non-functional requirements in alignment with modern DevSecOps practices.

Candidates should enjoy working in fast-paced, collaborative environment as a subject matter expert, where they can bring their expertise to shape the direction and enable the evolution of the SaaS offering. They should be self-directing in hands-on implementation work and assist in planning and technical management initiatives within an Agile program execution. They should be an exceptional communicator with the ability to flow between mentoring internal team members, advising management, and consulting external clients at various levels.

Candidates should have strong expertise in application software technologies such as Java, Spring technologies, and related Java technologies utilizing SQL, NoSQL, and REST.

Practical experience leveraging Angular, GraphQL, Kafka, and Camunda workflow is needed. Candidate should have strong experience designing secure, resilient, and performant application components. Familiarity with public cloud provider services and immerging AI technologies in enterprise solutions is desired.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Subject matter expert for large scale system implementation in one or more areas of the architecture: Application, Technology, Security, Information/Data and DevSecOps

• Identify and evaluate current systems for opportunities to improve architecture roadmap that maximizes the use of advanced technology and seek to further modernization objectives.

• Work across development and client implementation teams to conceive, enable, and deliver software architecture. The member would be responsible to design, develop, test, implement, document and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies

•Partner with other architects and senior developers to design highly-responsive, scalable, microservices identifying supporting technologies and open source software built for purpose and need

• Bring in best practices, guidance, and enablement of teams, maximizing their efficiency and ability to produce sound, tested, reliable code

• Participate in sprint and system demos for agile teams to maintain visibility on product progress, quality and interdependencies throughout the lifecycle. Identify and offer suggestions for improvement.

• Coach and mentor development and implementation team members to remove technical challenges and correcting failures

• Perform detailed code reviews from development and implementation team members, provide feedback in a constructive manner, and ensuring adherence to coding standards

• Ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end user functional and non-functional requirements

• Contribute to continuously improving the software engineering practices through identification and implementation improvements

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline

• 4+ years’ operating as a solutions architect driving cloud native application development initiatives

• 12+ years of experience as a software engineer with focus on web-based business application development, with 4+ of those years focused on microservices architecture

• Highly proficient in Object Oriented application design patterns leveraging JSON, REST, and Java/Spring technologies

• Proficient experience in working with on-premise and cloud-based data storage platforms (e.g. relational databases Postgres, NoSQL databases MongoDB)

• 5+ years of experience writing application unit tests using frameworks such as Junit

• 4+ years of extensive knowledge and experience with application design patterns

• 2+ year work in containerized technologies Kubernetes, Docker, Helm

• Experience using code analysis tools such as SonarQube

• Practical experience implementing CI/CD automation to improve SDLC cadence and code quality

• Practical experience with source control and build automation tools (GIT, Gradle, NPM)

• Practical experience in test driven development

• Experience developing and documenting architecture framework capabilities for use by development teams

• Experience working in SAFe/Agile development environment.

• Strong analytical, problem solving and diagnostic skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Team player with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and goals.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $97,700 -$228,100. CGI anticipates accepting applications for this position through October 30, 2024.
