CGI is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Sr. DBA) to support a Navy organization responsible for providing integrated logistics, engineering, information technology expertise, and a range of products and services to all facets of the Navy's worldwide logistics support structure. The Sr. DBA will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing, and maintaining system databases.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Create, tune, implement and upgrade DBMS installations.
• Implement and support ETL processes for migrating data from system to system, including from mainframe systems.
• Monitor database operations and system performance metrics to identify potential risks/issues.
• Respond to performance and outage alerts.
• Ensure database backup and recovery jobs are in place.
• Manage database user access and security.
• Ensure database access controls support protecting the data.
• Apply and use the following tools to successfully manage the databases ORACLE DBMS, PL/SQL, MYSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
• Optimize application SQL queries and database for faster performance and high availability.
• Write and deploy SQL DML and DDL script to support application patches and deployments.
• Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements.
• Collate, prepare, and present statistical information for internal and external use.
• Support application and database deployment for application modules
• Provide database guidance and support to project team.
• Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning.
• Work in conjunction with the data architect and application development teams to design, develop and review data model changes.
• Review and maintain database changes using Liquibase.
• Assist with SQL development to generate ad-hoc reports from database as needed.
• Proven ability to work independently, and as a team member.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related information technology field.
• 7 years of experience in administering, managing and tuning databases.
• 7 years of experience with Oracle and MS SQL
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and ETL process implementation.
• Experience with managing RDS in AWS a plus
• Experience with implementing and using Liquibase to manage database changes.
• Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts.
• Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Proven ability to clearly communicate requirements to other development team members.
• Manage changes to requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written) and clearly within the team and with all the stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with team members, customers and support personnel.
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Active SECRET clearance required
Desired Skills:
• Experience with at least one other relational database including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.
• Ability to solve complex business process problems
• Proven ability to develop and maintain system documentation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Experience with system modernization management.
• Experience supporting a Department of Defense (DOD) client.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $105,000 $140,000.
