The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in the utilities space dedicated to helping our clients design and implement solutions that meet their needs.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The subject matter expert (SME) provides the knowledge and expertise in a specific subject, business area, or technical area for a project/program.

Utility SMEs understand their clients industry and their job well enough that they rarely have to look up information and, if they do have to, they know exactly where to find the information.

SMEs help clients design business processes to drive value for the organization, often as part of a software implementation or upgrade.

The primary responsibility of the SME is to understand and document the clients business requirements, devise and document business processes and software solutions to deliver those requirements, communicate the solution to all stakeholders, and lead the configuration/implementation of the solution.

To achieve this, the SME will:

Demonstrate extensive understanding of the utility industry and at least one of CGIs industry offerings: PragmaCAD, PragmaLINE, OpenGrid 360, or ARM.

Engage with multiple external customer stakeholder groups during multiple business process sessions to define business requirements and process flows

Analyze, define requirements, design, configure, and support business applications

Create and maintain functional deliverables including business process diagrams, design specifications and documentation of configuration changes

Design and develop configurations to tailor the behavior of the software to match/improve the client's business processes and evolving business requirements

Provide continual improvement process recommendations and implementation related to the customer experience

Assist with implementation of new functionality, configurations, enhancements, interfaces, extensions and reports as approved

Troubleshoot solution issues, whether related to business process, user education, configuration, core software functionality or those originating from customization, extensions, or interfaces

Conduct analysis on problems independently, research and recommend solutions, and execute resolution steps to address client issues.

Create test plans, test cases, test scripts and perform functional testing

Strong problem solving skills logical approach and methodical analysis

Assist in risk management activities including identifying, mitigating and escalating risks

Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Utility Operations 10-15 Years

Troubleshooting - 5 Years

Ability to travel 75-90%

Located in proximity to a CGI office

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Hands-on experience with large financial or operational systems and/or mission-critical solutions

Ability to effectively communicate and interact with clients at all levels of the client organization

Strong written and oral communication skills, good presentation skills

Ability to work independently, establish priorities, meet deadlines

Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and good work ethic is essential to success

Ability to lead teams while simultaneously being able to be an individual contributor

Skills Desired:

Previous experience in project based work

Familiarity with cloud-based and/or integrated software solutions - 5 Years
