We are looking for a skilled Data Modeler to join our team. The role entails designing and maintaining complex data models, optimizing SQL queries, collaborating with stakeholders, analyzing data model performance, ensuring data quality, leveraging Azure technologies, and staying updated with industry best practices.
This opportunity requires the candidate to be on-site in our Fort Lauderdale office.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Data Model Design: Design, develop, and maintain complex data models for large data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring they meet business needs and support data-driven decision-making.
• Data Architecture: Develop and document data architecture, including data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, and data dictionaries, to support comprehensive and efficient data management.
• SQL Development: Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and scripts to support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective data models and solutions.
• Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize data model performance, addressing any issues related to data processing, retrieval, and query execution.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct data quality assessments and ensure data models adhere to data governance and quality standards.
• Technology Integration: Utilize Azure technologies and services (such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Azure SQL) where applicable to enhance data integration and processing.
• Best Practices: Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and methodologies in data modeling and apply them to improve data architecture and practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of proven experience as a Data Modeler/Architect with strong proficiency in SQL and database design.
• Proven experience as a Data Modeler with expertise in data modeling and database design.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or similar.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and database management systems.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
• Experience with Azure technologies (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL) is preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with the Banking KYC domain is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective data models.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications in SQL and Azure are a plus

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $61,000 - $150,200.
