Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking for a Solution Architect to support a project at our Fairfax, VA location. The senior solution architect will have the opportunity to supply leadership and guidance to the all contract personnel. Providing direct solutions and integration of solutions by assisting in the delivery of the project. We're looking for a candidate that can lead us in this effort.

Serve as the Senior Solution Architect delivering capabilities and services for software development and perform required systems engineering life cycle (SELC) analysis, design, programming and testing while maintaining all the systems at their operational targets including SAP Financial. Other objectives include the team to complete mainframe retirement, implement Dev/Sec/Ops environment, complete Cloud migration while implementing strict security measures, especially SAP, and reduce cost of operations.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Possesses, leads, and applies expert knowledge of the development of a solution and architecture. Provides technical/management leadership on designing and building software development and performing required SELC analysis, design, programming, and testing while maintaining all the systems at their operational targets including SAP Financial. Directs and controls analysis design and archive/recovery design and implementation. Translates project needs into long-term architecture solutions. Directs and controls the evaluation of hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems. Their key responsibility will include an in-depth understanding of DHS’ connection flow to effectively place new project components across agencies on premise and remote environments Evaluates network/security standards and procedures. Plans the design, coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of security program from a network architecture perspective for an organization.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required

  • Current DoD Top Secret clearance preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 10+ years of related experience, or 8 years and a Master’s degree

  • One or more certifications in Scaled Agile, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent, ITIL v3, Enterprise Architecture

  • Excellent proven experience in implementing solution architecture design and leading multiple scrum teams

  • Experience using Agile and SecDevOps processes and tools – including Release Planning, Architecture runway, Continuous delivery pipeline, Backlog management, Scrum, Kanban, XP

  • Experience using automated testing to achieve high quality products and efficient timelines

  • Ability to expertly use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways

  • Expert in implementing IT security projects for applications in complex and heterogeneous environments

  • Expert ability to Interpret business issues and recommendation for best practices in Information Architectures

  • Expert ability to work and provide support on complex information architecture issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

  • Experience transforming legacy mainframe applications and databases to the cloud

  • Exercises excellent judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  • 10+ years in solution architecture experience

The successful candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual, with a strong information architecture and database and security background who excels integrating, operating & deploying security technology and solutions including interacting with clients. The successful candidate is a self-starter who works effectively leading in a highly dynamic environment.

  • Database industry certification

  • Understanding of CBP application portfolio, systems, tools and architectures

  • Understanding of federal cybersecurity guidance such as NIST SP 800-37 - Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems: a Security Life Cycle Approach and NIST 800-137 - Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations.
