CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for an SQL Database Administrator. You will enhance the cyber security posture of civilian government agencies through improved visibility into user credential management. You will actively identify and mitigate a wide range of cyber risks and will also work closely with a wide variety of agencies, learning their mission, priorities, organization and unique challenges. This opportunity will support a dynamic, fast-paced and energetic project running 20+ concurrent implementations.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
-Installation, optimization, and management of application SQL database solutions by leading and assisting in the delivery of back end capabilities for commercially available cyber security solutions across civilian government agencies
-Strong application database management and administration with an emphasis on application integration and performance optimization dealing with large volumes of data
-Experience defining and augmenting logical and relational data models for scalability and performance
-Interfacing with agency DBAs on their O&M teams to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot databases for both existing and newly deployed applications
-Work with agency DBAs and both agency and CGI security teams to ensure that databases are securely deployed, managed, and maintained in line with applicable STIGs
It is also essential that the candidate possess the following:
Ability to engage with clients and work with multiple development teams.
Demonstrated competence in analysis and problem solving principles with emphasis in user relations, data gathering techniques and management information applications.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
Detailed-oriented with proven time management and organization skills, with a demonstrated ability to achieve results.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Provide database solutions and integration of solutions by leading and assisting in the delivery of databases for cyber security projects for designated agencies as part of Agency Core Teams.
The successful candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual with a strong database development and integration with applications and a background who excels integrating, operating and deploying databases for security technology and solutions including interacting with clients.
The successful candidate is a self-starter who works effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of SQL database administration experience required
Experience with database design, implementation, and maintenance including performance optimization, database migrations/upgrades, and supporting DBMS security reviews
Experience with database design and architecture for performance optimization as well as performance tuning of SQL / PL-SQL against large data volumes
