CGI Federal is looking for ORACLE Database Developer / Development DBA to work in our Fairfax, VA location. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining physical databases and if required being able to develop stored procedures, functions, packages and complex queries to support software application/system development and maintenance efforts.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Design and document physical database architecture.
Build database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures.
Analyze and maintain performance requirements.
Install, configure, and update Oracle on servers.
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
Implement and maintain database security
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
Work as part of a project team and provide 7x24 support when required
Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
If required, Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 4 years of directly related work experience required. High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of direct related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools (Oracle 10g or higher Database)
A good understanding of the underlying operating system
A good knowledge of the physical database design
A strong knowledge of SQL and Oracle packages
Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
Knowledge of ALL Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
A good knowledge of Oracle security management
A good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources
A good knowledge Oracle data integrity
Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems
Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
Having sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
Provide a strategic database direction for the organization
Able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Must have a data analysis mindset as well as technical skill sets
Strong attention to detail ability with a strong desire to contribute to quality efforts and ensure data quality meets client expectations.
Strong problem solving and resolution skills.
Initiative and ability to work with minimal guidance.
Ability to learn new related skills and cross-train with other DBAs.
Willing to learn as environment will change data specifications may expand or contrast as customers needs change.
Good client partnership interpersonal skills.
Ability to successfully complete the CGI Background Investigation to include, 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment, Additionally, your ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment.
Oracle certifications (Professional DBA)
Knowledge of Healthcare domain is preferable
