Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking for an energetic, motivated and eager Junior Project lead to support a large environmentally focused mission critical project with opportunity for growth at our Fair Lakes, VA Headquarters. This position is geared toward experienced Business Analysts who are looking to expand their skills in Project Management. The candidate selected for this position will have the opportunity to be mentored by an experienced Project Manager as they advance their management career. As a Junior Project Lead, you will use your leadership, management, and excellent communication skills to interact with clients, lead and develop a project team, organize your project’s priorities, and create financial forecasts, among many other tasks. The ideal Junior Project Manager candidate has experience leading a small piece of work or a small team, has strong writing and communication skills, and is able to build relationships with both their team members and clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and organize the daily activities of a software development project team.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients: respond to questions, log all client requests, translate client priorities into action plans for the team.

  • Understand client business and requirements, and ensure the team is addressing client needs through developed solutions.

  • Run daily scrums, organize sprints, and conduct all team agile ceremonies.

  • Author user stories, test scripts, and other Agile deliverables.

  • Test application functionality against client requirements.

  • Author project deliverables including status reports and management briefings

  • Monitor project financials.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2-4 years work experience as a business analyst

  • 1 year work experience leading a small project team or portion of a project

-Knowledge of SDLC and Agile development

-Functional analysis and strong writing skills.

-Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to build relationships

-Ability to travel to client site (as needed)

-Ability to work effectively within a team environment under tight timelines
