Position Description:

The Internal Communications Specialist will work with communications team colleagues as well as business units and indirect support teams to create content and execute communications activities that help drive employee awareness and engagement as well as raise the company’s visibility among target audiences.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

•Facilitate internal knowledge transfer of best practices and offerings/capabilities, as well as foster the ability of CGI Federal’s workforce to help amplify our brand externally through management of communications channels such as:

o Newsletters

o Targeted messaging

o Executive memos

o Presentations

o Planning and execution of employee events

•Manage CGI Federal’s content on the global CGI intranet/networking website and help develop and execute a strategic vision for the platform while partnering with communications liaisons across the business.

• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of five years marketing/communications experience in internal corporate communications

• Demonstrated aptitude for writing and editing for various media, including newsletters, web, presentations, social media and marketing collateral

• Experience or demonstrated aptitude in the development and implementation of internal communications plans and programs

• Excellent verbal communications skills and presence to represent the communications function internally and the company externally to vendors or partners, as needed

• Self-starter who is creative and flexible for a highly-dynamic environment

• Experience with project management/coordination

• Ability to manage numerous activities while maintaining attention to detail and positive relationships

• Web content management experience

• Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours as needed to meet critical deadlines

Desired qualifications

• Experience utilizing Microsoft SharePoint to create and manage web content

• Familiarity with video development/editing a plus

• Understanding of the government market and/or technology sector
