Position Description:

The Learning Director is responsible for leading the strategy, identification and delivery of training programs and activities required to provide our workforce with the skills, knowledge, and capabilities critical to the achievement of business goals.

The Director is a key member of the CGI CSG Human Resources leadership team and the Global Human Resources team and will report to the Vice President, Human Resources, CGI CSG. The ideal candidate will be based in the Fairfax, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

•Be a consultative subject matter expert to leaders to optimize learning impact and effectiveness and influence the member learning and development strategies.

•Provide effective learning and development guidance based on global and CGI CSG priorities, external L&D best practice, commercial experience, data analysis and sound judgment.

•Effectively use influence and negotiation strategies to secure buy-in from stakeholders for key initiatives.

•Provide coaching and guidance to CGI CSG L&D team and the broader HR Team, reinforcing key skills and high performance standards, by role modelling positive leadership and a collaborative and engaging approach.

•Design and build L&D capabilities within the organization and support the development of our talent pipeline using innovative L&D interventions and preferred vendors.

•Ensure alignment, engagement and collaboration for the CSG L&D team to the Global CGI HR organization.

•Oversee L&D annual cycle, aligned to the global L&D model ensuring leaders’ and members’ needs are addressed. Ensure HR Scope of Services is fully leveraged through partnership across the Global HR team and within CGI CSG.

•Oversee (and facilitate where appropriate) the delivery of local L&D practices and programs, to enable a positive member experience, and delivery of value.

•Create an environment within CGI CSG where there is a culture of continuous learning and development.

•Build and enhance the CGI brand awareness in the external marketplace as an employer of choice through the appropriate routes (e.g. networking events, attending conferences, involvement at L&D events, etc).

•Identify, select and manage external training and accreditation bodies, agencies and providers necessary to deliver required training. Negotiate with vendors to ensure most cost effective solution.

•Keep training policies and procedures up to date and ensure alignment with quality standards and requirements.

•Manage a small direct-reporting staff.

•Prepare and manage yearly training budget.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

•Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

•10+ years of demonstrated success leading a corporate training program required.

•Experience in training needs analysis and design required with experience in curriculum development and delivery highly desirable.

•Must have strong project management skills: organization, assessment/analysis and evaluation, and decision making skills.

•Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory.

•Strong platform/presentation skills with all audiences in all settings, from senior leaders to individual contributors, from classroom settings to one-on-one meetings.

•Previous experience/knowledge in multi-media training techniques a plus.

•Must have strong computer skills with strong depth of experience in Microsoft Office suite.

•Ability to travel up to 25% (post pandemic).
