Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a long-term federal contract.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Design and implement AWS cloud environment for DEV/TEST/PROD using VPC, ELB, ALB, EC2, S3, CloudFormation, ECS, Glacier, Kenesis and Lambda.

  • Support cloud storage, cloud networking, high availability, disaster recovery, backups, naming conventions, intrusion detection/prevention system, antivirus/malware, continuous monitoring, data security, vulnerability scanning, log aggregation, Identity and Access Management and encryption keys.

  • Support AWS infrastructure and ensure that it complies to client specifications.

  • Implement and support infrastructure automation including: use of containers, automated provisioning (e.g. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies), data logging/auditing and authentication.

  • Support client security ATO process, security reporting requirements and annual security table-top exercise.

  • Configuration management using client approved technologies (i.e., Docker Enterprise Edition, GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Splunk, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot issues and provide off on-call support

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience using AWS services such as configuring VPCs, EC2 instances, ELBs, Security Groups, IAM roles, RDS and tagging.

  • Significant experience with Linux including shell scripting, managing permissions and networking.

  • Minimum 10 years of IT hands-on experience in implementing enterprise solutions for large-scale IT environments.

  • Able to attain Public Trust-level clearance.

  • Keen problem determination and analysis skills to troubleshoot issues.

  • A good understanding of the value of metrics.

  • Ability to interpret results from various different tools and develop effective reports.

  • Proactive self-starter.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Demonstrated success building meaningful and productive relationships with colleagues, customers and business partners.


  • Minimum 2 years of government contracting experience.

  • Agile methodology experience.

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Docker Enterprise Edition, Puppet Enterprise, Ansible, Splunk, Github and Jenkins.
