Position Description:

CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Data Loss Protection Engineer. You will enhance the cyber security posture of seven (7) civilian government agencies through improved implementation and enhancement of network monitoring and control tools and processes. You will actively identify and mitigate a wide range of cyber risks and will also work closely with a variety of agency stakeholders, supporting their mission, priorities, organization and unique challenges. This opportunity will support a dynamic, fast-paced and energetic project focused on improving federal cybersecurity at the seven target agencies over the next six (6) years.

The Data Loss Protection Engineer will support the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program. We are looking for an experienced and hands-on subject matter expert to support our technical team in identify key data protection strategies for agencies we are supporting on the CDM program. The candidate will have experience in deploying data security and encryption solutions, digital rights management (DRM), data loss protection (DLP), cloud security and PKI technologies.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • The Data Protection Engineer will be responsible for the supporting clients in designing, implementing and maintaining data security solutions mitigate potential threats of data compromise.

  • The candidate will also develop and support data classification policies, strategies for addressing data encryption requirements to include DRM and advanced data protection techniques, such as data masking, tokenization, P2P encryption, etc.

  • Additionally the candidate will evaluate existing technologies with the CDM technical team, including developing technical requirements, evaluate solutions and developing architecture and design documents for data protection and data security solutions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.

  • 8+ years of experience with enterprise security software with proven skills within data security and information security including encryption, key management, access control and PKI.

  • Operational expertise in deploying data at rest encryption technologies (Vormetrics, SafeNET, Entrust, etc.).

  • Expertise and demonstrated proficiency with major operating systems (Windows, UNIX, and Linux).

  • Expertise with storage systems, database management systems and security.

  • Experience with scripting using RESTful API, PowerShell, and Python.

  • Understanding of enterprise services to include firewalls, IDS/IPS, networks, and end point security.

  • Experience with Secure Development Lifecycle (DevSecOps).

  • Experience with Risk Management and Security regulations for Data (FIPS-140-2, PCI, Common Criteria, NIST, OMB Circular A-130).

  • Must present a professional appearance, possess candor and be able to communicate effectively (both orally and written) with senior management and customers.
