Position Description:

The Data Architect defines how the data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by different data entities and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data in some way. It is closely aligned with business architecture. The data architect “provides a standard common business vocabulary, expresses strategic data requirements, outlines high level integrated designs and aligns with enterprise strategy and related business architecture.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Data architect is expected to set data architecture principles, create models of data that enable the implementation of the intended business architecture, create diagrams showing key data entities, and create an inventory of the data needed to implement the architecture vision. Responsibilities include: Organizing data at the macro level, data models for a new application, logical data model as a standard for the golden source and for consuming applications to inherit and provide logical data model with elements and business rules.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

• Twelve (12) years of progressive experience in database management.

• Eight (8) years of which must include management of large scale, complex systems. The individual shall possess extensive amount of experience in data migration from legacy systems to a CRM platform.

• Experience utilizing MS Dynamics.

• Experience with the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods, and tools to support virtualization and enterprise Cloud platform adoption for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) supporting GOTS and COTS applications.

• Ability to make specific refactoring and rebuilding recommendations to ease migration and provide documentation and knowledge transfer to government and third-party vendors during and after task implementations

• Experience establishing DevOPS pipeline.

• Experience with building cloud native applications.

• Experience with identifying common Enterprise Architecture.

• Experience with Enterprise APIs and integrating shared services.

• Experience migrating on-prem services to cloud computing.

• Experience in Data Modeling and Database Architecture.

• Experience writing relational database queries for stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure or Cloud Service platforms.

• Knowledge of the Agile mindset and practices.

• Experience using project management and task management software solutions, including Microsoft Project, Jira, and Team Foundation Server (TFS).

• Knowledge of SharePoint, OpenText, or Drupal.

• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship OR Permanent Resident is required.
