CGI Federal is hiring a 508 Compliance Tester SME to work with a skilled and motivated team of professionals on a high-visibility Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) cyber security program. You will support a dynamic, fast-paced project focused on improving the cyber security posture of civilian government agencies through the implementation and enhancement of a cybersecurity platform, providing integration services, and developing, securing and maintaining cybersecurity dashboards. You will work closely with a variety of agency stakeholders, supporting their mission, priorities, organization, and unique challenges. You will also support the development of additional cyber security offerings focused on next generation security solutions and technologies.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Ability to learn and operate in a dynamic environment
• Ability to demonstrate analytical expertise, close attention to detail, critical thinking, logic, and solution orientation and to learn and adapt quickly
• Conduct design reviews of wireframes, mockups, and/or prototypes to identify potential accessibility barriers and violations
• Responsible for performing web accessibility testing, including: semi-automated scans, manual reviews, keyboard only, color sampling, and screen reader testing using a combination of common web accessibility testing tools such as WAVE, Web Accessibility Toolbar, Colour Contrast Analyser, and JAWS screen reader, respectively
• Write detailed findings documenting identified issues and recommending potential solutions for remediating accessibility violations
• Review and revise Section 508 Product Assessments (aka VPATs, PATs, GPATs)
• Responsible for creating and delivering training to internal project team members and external partners regarding Section 508 design and development best practices
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Due to the nature of the contract requirements, US citizenship and successful passing of CGI background check is required prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA EOD/Public Trust clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years hands-on experience using web accessibility testing tools and Freedom Scientific’s JAWS screen reader to evaluate web sites/web applications for conformance to the Section 508 standards.
• Experience testing electronic documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for Section 508 compliance.
• Experience in web standards UI development and accessible cross-browser/cross-platform web development using HTML/XHTML, CSS and DOM Scripting (JavaScript)
• Human Factors International (HFI) Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) certification
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
• Prior experience in information technology, contracting or other related fields
• Experience with Agile development concepts or an interest to learn
• Experience in cybersecurity
• Experience on complex work assignments in matrixed organizations
• Exposure to or general knowledge of CISA’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program (CDM)
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $76,300.00 - $185,800.00.
