Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Solution Architect Lead (OMS – Electric Utilities) with 10+ years of experience to join a program team which is leading a highly critical OMS upgrade as part of the Advanced Grid initiative at a leading US utility.

Will be accountable for the delivery of a critical project to deploy an upgrade to the OMS in advance of the transition to the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). The project will develop integrations to existing systems and deploy to each of three operating companies.

Responsible for coordinating with the end to end Project Manager to support the planning of the work, managing a cross-functional team comprised of employees, contractors and vendors at distributed work locations, and mitigating technical issues and risks.

Responsible for ensuring all vendor deliverables are met and applications are integrated successfully.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for coordinating software configuration, integration development, testing and deployment.

• Ensure timely and accurate vendor deliverables, including coordination of release planning efforts across environments.

• Identifies and implements productivity improvements; mitigates risks, resolves issues and troubleshoots as needed.

• Leads and monitors end-to-end technical implementation, including hardware installation, environment setup, production certification, software deployment, integration development, testing and deployment, data management, and vendor technical activities.

• Serves as liaison to other IT teams involved in project, coordinating integration work.

• Architects solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements while ensuring adherence to architecture standards. Creates and maintains architecture and other design artifacts.

• Provides technical insights on business area specific technology. Assures there is traceability from requirements to design to as-built solution.

• Acts as technical liaison to project managers and program leadership to ensure accurate statusing and communications for executive steering committee.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 10 years work experience in designing and implementing new large-scale systems across multiple hardware and software platforms, IT architecture and related functions at a large corporation.

• Experience in operational technology and real-time systems, system availability and performance, and IT/OT Experience within T&D Organizations: EMS, ADMS, GIS, OMS, NERC CIP, SCADA. OMS experience required.

• Proven experience managing vendor software upgrade or enterprise software implementation projects.

• Proven experience managing requirements specification, design activities, prototype development, testing and final deployment.

• Experience working across IT organizations to ensure effective technical collaboration to seamlessly integration applications.

• Proven experience on a project with a large number of impacted users, (i.e., at least 200 users) and managing the associated change management.
