CGI is seeking for a Senior Data engineer or analyst for our Data Platform and Analytics engineering (DPaAS) team in Finance Technology group with client to provide functional expertise and guidance for key data projects within DPaAS.Senior Data Engineer who can bring in expertise and industry standard methodologies define better development.

The member will be responsible for the functional requirements for new feature development to support build out of new and or enhance existing data platform services in AWS Redshift and or Oracle cloud environments with their extensive experience in data analysis, design and architecture supporting data engineering function.

Some of the engineering skills required for operating in data platforms would include strong expertise with SQL, data integration i.e. transformation rules and extensive data warehousing experience. This role will collaborate with various levels of stakeholders to help articulate and influence the technical direction; possess a combination of systems and technology experience along with strong thought leadership to make the right and balanced functional design decisions that deliver key enabling features to support major initiatives across the domain.

This role can be performed from Lafayette, LA (Preferred), Bloomfield, CT or Denver, CO in a Hybrid model.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Partners with client internal and Vendor external teams in functional design, technical design, and guides development of the Data Analytics platform. Gather and assess requirements and assist with translation into optimal analytical solutions.

Facilitate client requirements and conversations through prototyping to gather requirements on KPI’s and other reporting requirements.

Translating and converting business requirements into Data Analytics functional design documents to support the business and technical teams.

Deliver functional design documents that are comprehensible to end users and technical team.

Create source to target data lineage mapping documents for mapping and validating data elements from multiple source systems to target system.

Provide direction and guidance with mapping and validating data elements from multiple source systems to target system.

Walkthrough the functional design documents and related deliverables with the technical team and business team to seek sign off.

Responsible for providing functional guidance to technical resources.

Review and provide feedback on the technical design documents from the technical team to ensure it aligns with the functional design document and leverages best practices from a DW perspective.

Develop different ad-hoc and or user specific reports and queries to support the business team.

Provide functional support in the form of research, documentation updates and enhancement requests during the testing phase to ensure the defects identified are valid defects that the technical team needs to work on.

Support data reconciliation to ensure the KPIs, balances and field level data within dashboards/reports matches with what’s expected to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Responsible for performing extensive data analysis & data mining leveraging various tools and summarizing the results / insights in a comprehensive way.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

At least 8+ years of diverse Technology experience with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in DWBI application design, development, and implementation.

5+ years with Skill sets- Designing dimensional models, good knowledge of Relational databases & Data warehouses (AWS Redshift & Oracle experience preferred), SQL, PL/SQL, and Functional experience in Tableau reports/dashboards.

Experience in other BI/reporting tools such as ThoughtSpot, OBIEE etc. will be a plus.

Experience in documenting key deliverables such as Requirement Gathering, FIT/GAP Analysis, ETL specs, Business model design, Functional Design for Reports and Data Mapping.

Strong experience on customization & implementations of Data Warehouses using ETL and BI Reporting tools.

Have a strong understanding of the BI architecture including physical data models, ETL, logical business models and subject areas.

Good communication & presentation skills

Detailed Oriented and strong experience in performing Data analysis.

Strong data management principles, around data architecture, modeling/design, data quality, security, data organization and operations.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $76,300- $146,800.
