We are seeking an Experience Design Consultant with a proven track record to join our design team. The ideal candidate is comfortable creating and communicating user experiences that make complex sets of information easy to use and memorable. In this role you will work collaboratively with clients and other team members to understand user needs, explore and validate design solutions, facilitate collaborative design sessions and support the implementation of custom solutions. You will provide visual interaction, create documentation, and provide design direction across project lifecycles - from concept to implementation, for a broad range of clients and industries.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the following day to day responsibilities:
•Apply Human Centered Design methods on projects to understand, clarify, and visualize key information including: business process maps, stakeholder relationships, user journeys, mental models and needs of users, low fidelity user interface wireframes, high-fidelity visual designs, and interactive prototypes.
•Participate in and/or co-facilitate collaborative workshops to uncover user needs, guide the conversation, and engage participants.
•Work visually to communicate abstract concepts and explain their strengths and weaknesses relative to the target audience and considering the business objectives.
•Solve complex problems by identifying and creating engaging, digital, experiences based on each client’s unique needs.
•Work quickly while maintaining appropriate fidelity levels to explore a variety of approaches.
•Seek feedback from clients, customers and peers, and integrate what you learn into solutions that are developed iteratively.
•Define the key components of user experiences and work with other designers to create a shared understanding of the underlying elements and patterns that will guide others as they carry the solution forward across the full project lifecycle.
•Work collaboratively with developers and project managers throughout the software build process and resolve problems that arise by providing design solutions, creating image assets, and defining specifications.
•Participate in the design, observation, and analysis of user research.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
•Minimum 3 years of experience in user experience and/or visual design for web, mobile or other interactive media
•Demonstrated experience of self-management
•Strong working knowledge and experience with design
•Expert in the use of typography, layout, and color.
•Expert in using Adobe Creative Suite and Balsamiq, but adept with a marker and a whiteboard
•Strong visual communication knowledge and experience
•Excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to move projects forward and be proactive
•Have a portfolio that demonstrates a range of visual styles and interactive experiences, and the ability to guide a discussion through your approach to projects, design process, storytelling, etc.
•Familiarity with agile and how design engages with agile development teams
•Experience in Marketing, Sales and Service process design and strategic organizational transformations centered around the Salesforce Platform or other packaged solutions
•Able to accommodate up to 30% travel (regional, national and international), sometimes with minimal notice
