Position Description:

CGI has an immediate need for a Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer (Data Streaming) to join our financial services team in one of our selected CGI locations. Due to the current COVID-19 status, candidates will not be required to work within the physical work location at this time. When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, they will be required to be located within the proximity of the assigned CGI location.

We are looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer with excellent working experience with data streaming

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer (Data Streaming) will be responsible for supporting and enhancing our Kafka and Kinesis based streaming data collection platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Kafka (open-source or Confluent) and AWS Kinesis, as well as cloud platforms. The candidate should also be strong with AWS and Kafka components, Kinesis components including streams, firehose and data analytics, and be experienced working with streaming systems that handle very high volume and velocity data. This will require a strong understanding of streaming architectures, and experience with AWS, CI/CD tools, and infrastructure as code. In this fast-paced environment, you will deal with high volume and high velocity data, and demonstrate your strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 8 to 10+ years of strong hands on experience in data streaming systems

• 10+ years of strong hands on experience in Engineering, Administration and development in AWS

• Must have experience with Kafka or Amazon Kinesis design, development & administration.

• IAM & Cloud Formation Template experience is required.

• Must have strong hands on experience in Python development in UNIX environment.

• Extensive experience in Application migrations to Cloud with Cloud Native Patterns and provide support for Applications running in Cloud.

• Strong knowledge of working with AWS Services Technologies EC2, EMR, EFS, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, S3, LAMBDA, CloudFront, Postgress and Cloudwatch.

• Must have hands on experience in troubleshooting and supporting customer in AWS production support on 24/7 cycle.

• Must have excellent communication, time management, and technical presentation skills.

• Demonstrated expertise with streaming data

• Deep level understanding of Kafka

• SQL and familiarity with modern cloud databases like Snowflake

• Frameworks: Spring Framework, Flink, JUnit, Mockito, Apache Flink.

• Cloud Technologies: AWS (VPC, Kubernetes, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, etc)

• Deployment Tools: Jenkins, Docker, Terraform

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Desired qualifications

• Confluent Kafka (SaaS) experience is a plus

• Experience with Terraform or any other Configuration Management is a plus.


Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field​
