CGI Federal is seeking a Network Engineer to work in our Colorado Springs, CO location. The successful candidate will provide support to Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC-PAC) for the Data Center Consolidation and Network Support Services Infrastructure Support effort at the NORAD & USNORTHCOM (N&NC) Headquarters. A successful candidate will work directly with NIWC-PAC and N&NC customers to provide support within the Network Engineering Department. The Network Engineering Department is currently developing and implementing new technologies within the N&NC NIPR & SIPR networks. The candidate will work directly with our small team of engineers and needs to be proficient with Juniper networking hardware. We are completing a number of projects including datacenter switching redesign, F5 Big-IP VPN, Azure Cloud migration, and ForcePoint.
Please note this task is ending 29-Sep-2020, with no assurances of a follow-on contract. Qualifications and compensation are negotiable considering the potentially short tenure. Immediate availability preferred.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Identify and implement network solutions in a Juniper network environment.
Provide top-tier network technical support.
Work directly with customer technical leads to improve current network stature and propose new projects to improve their infrastructure.
Provides network and systems integration experience as well complex systems analysis.
Has direct liaison with task technical customer.
Performs additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices; include investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Act as a SME of Juniper networking equipment configuration and design.
Experience with Cisco network configuration and design.
Experience with Juniper QFX5100, MX104, SRX550, EX4600, and EX4300 equipment.
Experience in performing Cisco to Juniper network migrations and integration.
Experience in utilizing and maintaining Solarwinds software.
Experience with SCSM software.
Mentor junior level Network Operations personnel to assist with Juniper knowledge transfer.
IAT II Certification with Juniper OS certification
-Support forensic data as required when needed to de-conflict issues when they arise.
Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to Information Assurance (IA) and Configuration Management (CM) standards.
Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to appropriately apply a methodology to projects that have reasonably well-defined project requirements and deliverables.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products and SharePoint.
Ability to successfully complete drug testing based on contract requirements.
Ability to establish working relations at all organizational levels. Demonstrate ability to diplomatically and effectively deal with Government officials and program office stakeholders.
Self-motivator with ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision or direction.
Professional oral and written presentation skills.
Attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong interpersonal and consultative skills to effectively communicate requirements
Able to work after hours and/or weekends to support sensitive migrations.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of N&NC J6 change management processes.
Knowledge of N&NC J6 network design.
Knowledge of DoD Cybersecurity requirements.
Thorough knowledge and experience with various Software, networking technologies, standards, and protocols
5 years minimum experience as a network engineer
Knowledge of Cybersecurity
