Position Description:

We are looking for a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our Testing Center of Excellence (COE) in the banking domain. As part of the COE, you will help drive automation strategies, optimize testing frameworks, and ensure high-quality delivery of software products across multiple banking applications. You will collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to enhance automation capabilities, contributing to the bank's digital transformation and continuous improvement efforts.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for core banking applications, including web, mobile, and API layers.

• Collaborate with Testing COE teams to align automation strategies with banking-specific testing requirements and industry standards.

• Integrate automation scripts into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring seamless testing and deployment cycles.

• Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing to meet the unique needs of banking software, including compliance and risk mitigation.

• Work with development, QA, and business teams to understand banking workflows, functional requirements, and business logic for better test coverage.

• Enhance automated test execution to support Agile methodologies, ensuring rapid feedback on quality during sprint cycles.

• Identify and implement automation tools, techniques, and processes that align with the banking sector's compliance, data privacy, and security requirements.

• Analyze test results, provide reports to stakeholders, and collaborate to resolve issues identified during testing.

• Actively participate in driving innovation, best practices, and knowledge sharing within the Testing COE.

• Ensure automation solutions comply with banking regulations, security standards, and performance benchmarks.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• years of experience in test automation, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.

• Expertise in automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, or similar, with a focus on building robust frameworks for large-scale applications.

• Strong experience with programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or C#.

• Familiarity with banking systems, core banking platforms, and financial transactions (e.g., loan management systems, payment gateways, etc.).

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab, and experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong understanding of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured) and experience with banking APIs and web services testing.

• Experience in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter) and security testing methodologies tailored for banking applications.

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.

• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the banking industry (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in a Testing Center of Excellence (COE) or a similar structured testing environment.

• Familiarity with banking-specific automation challenges, including handling of encrypted data, security protocols, and transaction validation.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

• ISTQB or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and collaboration with DevOps teams to streamline testing efforts.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $54,200- $120,100.
