Position Description:
CGI is looking for a self-motivated Java Developer to join an established team supporting a core system for a large financial client in Cary, NC. The system has high visibility within the organization and is used by many prominent stakeholders. This role offers flexibility of joining a team applying Agile methodologies to deliver high quality software to our customers. You will also have the opportunity to work with groundbreaking technologies on highly visible initiatives to the highest level within the Organization.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Builds, designs, and implements features for new and existing applications.
Improve Java based applications and delivery quality output.
Aid in the planning and execution of internal software projects.
Address the technical challenges of your colleagues by being a collaborative partner, working side-by-side to tackle problems and ensure quality.
Assist in the development of innovative and creative approaches to solve sophisticated problems.
Provide infrastructure solutions, operational support and problem resolution for large systems.
Develop documentation on all new and existing software being supported.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
3+ years of experience in application design and development.
Experience developing application in Java 8, Spring, REST, Microservice.
Hands on experience on Java, Spring, Hibernate/JPA, REST API, Oracle/Postgres.
UI experience – Angular knowledge required and React is a plus.
DevOps experience – CI/CD, Bitbucket, Jenkins/Hudson/TeamCity experience is mandatory.
Docker experience – OpenShift, containerization knowledge is a must.
Experience with Messaging services, such as Kafka/MQ is helpful.
Hadoop knowledge is a bonus.
Cloud knowledge is a good to have.
Unit testing using JUnit and Mockito.
Code review of the team members & suggest the best coding/design practices.
Provide mentorship to support teams on debugging application issues.
Providing support to QA, UAT & PROD users.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skills level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate for this type of position of the current range of $53,100 - 143,700.
