Position Description:

CGI is part of a team to coach Agile DevSecOps teams at US Citizenship and immigration Services. We provide Agile, DevSecOps and solution architecture coaches to help DevSecOps teams to deliver value in a consistent way across contracts and delivery areas.

This position is for a Solution Architect. This role will help teams architect their systems in a more cloud native environment, AWS and improve services reuse in a more effective way than performing a lift-and-shift from an on-premises environment to a cloud environment. They will help set design standards and coach teams when to use different architectural design patterns, including interactions among different systems.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Attend daily stand-ups for the coaching team and the individual DevSecOps teams being coached.

• Look at architectures and help teams to build target architectures and the interim steps to reaching those steps.

• Working with USCIS to define architectures and assist teams in taking advantage of those architectures.

• Work with teams to effectively design, build and deliver solutions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical, business and solution architecting is required.

• At least 3 years architecting solutions in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Strong verbal communication skills.

• Experience with micro service and serverless architectures.

• Experience in identifying and classifying application components according to the specific business and performance objectives they support and the technologies they employ.

• Experience in analysis of the current application inventory and provide detailed application architecture guidelines to improve business processes.

• Expert in assessing performance of applications in producing business value and return on investment.

• Experience in conducting walkthroughs of the solution architectural design as needed/requested.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with DHS and USCIS architecture, engineering and other organizations to support architecture planning, implementation and maintenance.

• Understanding of designing solutions with Kafka would be useful.

• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon EKS or Kubernetes.
