Position Description:

CGI is looking for a Software Engineering Lead, who will be responsible for leading a highly talented team that is focused on using technology, and product design principles to innovate and deliver modern solutions aligned to strategic initiatives in the client application. In this role you will collaborate with business leadership and technology partners to define and execute on a shared vision.

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience in leading high performing teams and 8+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in health care or a related industry.

This position is located in Hartford, CT with work performed at client site in Bloomfield, CT or Lafayette, LA in a hybrid working model.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Technical team lead as part of an Agile scrum team

• Ability to work with Enterprise Architecture and ensure alignment with broader technology strategy

• Responsible for software product engineering deliverables and activities including solution architecture reviews/recommendations, design, development, testing, and automation

• Leverage technical expertise and experience to ensure we are building scalable products that are highly performant and secure

• Ensure tech stack selection and software development patterns align to the technology strategy and are optimized for the business use case

• Focus on automation and exploring opportunities to leverage and benefit from Gen AI

• Inculcate a continuous improvement culture that is constantly monitoring the performance, availability, capacity, cost, security, and quality of the solutions implemented

• Collaborate with peers to build complimenting software products, sharing learnings and inner sourcing to reduce duplication and create synergy

• Foster an engineering mindset culture that is focused on increasing business value velocity, building products of high quality that can scale, and user experiences that support end to end workflows that are rich with insights and simple to use

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

5+ years leading engineering teams in software delivery; global team experience is a plus.

8+ years in software engineering, preferably in healthcare or related fields.

Proven strategic thinker in a matrixed environment.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, R, Ruby, Perl).

Familiar with web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).

Experience with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) and large datasets.

Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and database management.

Expertise in architecting cloud-based systems and application development (mobile, web services).

Strong background in software engineering methodologies, automation, and CI/CD.

Experience in scalability, performance tuning, and project scoping.

Primary Skills:

OOP, Enterprise Integration Patterns, Service-Oriented Architecture (REST, ESB).

Event-driven architecture (Kafka, AWS).

Relational database development (MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS).

Performance testing and container/serverless approaches (Docker, AWS).

Additional Skills:

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Creative mindset for innovative solutions.

Excellent customer service and attention to detail.

Team player with experience in agile environments; mentoring skills preferred.

Industry experience in Health Insurance is a plus.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $84,000 - $161,600.
