Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking for Lead Technical Analyst for one of our Health IT projects. The selected candidate will become a member of the Software Development Team and will report to the Project Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing and deploying effective strategies to solve technical issues in Application/Data/ETL while increasing productivity. Lead TA will be in charge of maintaining and troubleshooting ETL and Data processes including network and infrastructure. Lead TA will also oversee the correct functioning of customer applications and database systems.

Senior TA should keep accurate logs, prepare daily/weekly/monthly status reports for client. Monitor batch jobs and server infrastructure, and if an issue is found, follow specific steps according to project standard operating procedures to fix it in a timely manner. Assist technical teams to debug issues or troubleshoot problems.

Should have strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and writing skills. Must be good at multitasking, as several tasks related to technical analysis should be addressed at the same time.

• Ability to provide direction to define and implement solutions as requirements are being identified and finalized.

• Ability to lead and manage a team of ETL/Data developers

• Keeping the big picture in mind to ensure that the pieces make up the final solution

• Ability to work independently and conduct self-directed research.

Standard Technical Objectives:

• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with products, software and processes.

• Create solutions and integrate processes.

• Report on root causes of problems, efficiency and support needs.

• Document processes, standard operating procedures and system requirements.

• Schedule and track work progress for the team.

• Lead a team of 6 to 8 technical analysts and developers.

• Gathers and translates business requirements into analytical applications.

• Collaborates with other project members and drive the implementation.

• Supports the project team throughout the design, development and testing process

• Supports project documentation as required

• Understands database design, programming concepts, data modeling and framework management.

• Communicates ideas to both technical and non-technical people in all levels of the organization.

• Effectively communicates technical architecture details and other parts of the Data/ETL/BI solution to others

• An understanding of INFORMATICA workflows

• Works with Business Analysts, Data Architects, Enterprise Architects and ETL Architects to ensure business requirements are being met with the solution being developed.

• Identify and reuse of ETL components and services to avoid duplicative implementations

• Mentor other team members in developing, documenting and modifying software components

• Excellent oral and written communication skills is required

• Excellent Analytical skills required

• Flexibility/Adaptability is required, especially when working in a large team

• Good Organization and Time Management skills required

• Attention to Detail is required

• Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.

• Develop new (maintain) Standard Operation Procedure processes for repetitive tasks.

• Data architecture and modeling experience implementing proper data structures for a BI solution using tools such as INFORMATICA and COGNOS is required.
