Position Description:

If you are a hands-on Technical Project Lead who is motivated by helping clients maintain and improve their legacy systems, then CGI is looking for you. Our Northern Virginia client is focused on maintaining legacy mission-critical systems and incrementally modernize these applications to better serve internal and external stakeholders. The Technical Lead will bring recent and relevant experience in ASP, COBOL, and IBM DB2 to support the operations and maintenance of the agency’s most mission-critical application. Throughout the day, you’ll lend your advanced technology skills, people and managerial skills, and project management expertise to help our client succeed in addressing both strategic and day-to-day challenges. Working on client site, you’ll become a trusted advisor to our client to help them achieve their goals.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Work on client site (Arlington, VA)

• Lead our cross-functional team in maintaining systems and developing new components for a mission-critical system

• Work within a cross-functional environment applying incremental and agile methodologies

• Partner with the team and our client to continually improve processes

• Collaborate with our agency program management leadership team to continuously evolve and improve our support for client in terms of innovation, cost-efficiency, and value

• Build and manage teams providing technical oversight across simultaneous projects delivering on milestones

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelors degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

Experience providing technical leadership in software application development and maintenance

Experience in assembling project/task teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, developing the schedules to ensure the timely completion of the task's milestones and final acceptance

Exhibited extensive experience and working knowledge in software development and/or programming design and systems management to include the following technical skills:

 IBM DB2

 IBM CICS

 ASP

 COBOL

 MS Visual Basic (COM components)

 CA Technologies Endevor

 BMC Mainframe Products and Solutions

 Web (GUI)

Desired:

• Experience leading a cross-functional team of at least 3 members

• Microsoft certifications a STRONG plus

• Agile experience and certifications a plus

• Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) a plus

Due to the nature of the government contract, US Citizenship is required with ability to successfully obtain mid-level, agency specific security clearance with uninterrupted & verifiable history for the past 5 years
