CGI Federal has an immediate opening for a junior to mid-level Network Engineer. Join a fast paced team implementing cybersecurity solutions DoD networks in support of the warfighter missions. The position requires application and integration of cybersecurity and internetworking technologies resulting in secure firewall, routing, logging and SSL/TLS orchestration configurations.
Candidate will spend the first three months learning the system and daily routine from the highly trained, knowledgeable staff. From three to six months, the candidate will shadow the team with development of new features for the system to include design, testing, and implementation, while also learning the support of the Operations team with daily customer tickets. At 12 months, candidate will have the knowledge and understanding to handle issues and basic testing with the senior staff overseeing and reviewing the work. Candidate will gain the skill set to be build a lasting career in a thriving subject area.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
As a member of the technical staff candidate will be responsible for rapidly developing a solid understanding of all solution capability. During initial months candidate will be tasked with several cross-functional technical assignments that build on the individuals core knowledge. Candidate will gradually be tasked with more challenging test assignments and eventually be responsible for conducting unsupervised test and troubleshooting analysis of the system.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Due to the nature of this government contract, a Secret clearance and US Citizenship is REQUIRED.
Network+, Security+ or other IAT level I, II or III certification is REQUIRED.
Candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to succinctly summarize engineering solutions and issues.
Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (computer related field)
Use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications
General understanding of cybersecurity
General understanding of the operations of traffic from an end user to the Internet (i.e. firewall, routing, networking, etc.)
Past Federal or DoD/DISA work experience
Palo Alto Networks, Juniper Networks, F5 Networks, VMWare, Splunk, RHEL/Linux, ACAS, PKI Infrastructure, Dell Server & iDRAC Platforms, VMWare and lab test generation experience in any or all the following technologies are desired
Experience writing technical documents, test reports and implementation plans, desired
Self-starter - ability to work on projects with and without support, Being able to communicate with technical teammates and explain technical information in non-technical environments
Proactive and creative individual who can diagnose an issue and find solutions
Career minded - individual possesses the drive to always move forward.
Active Learner - indivdual wants to continually learn and understand new technologies and designs. The want-to make systems more efficient and robust
