CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI, has an opening for a Central Contract Specialist in its Albany, NY office. This role supports a multi-year business process services contract CGI Federal has with a local housing authority that is aligned with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Your future duties and responsibilities:
The Contract Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio size between 40-50 assisted housing contracts to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all required tasks, which includes the following:
Process vouchers, contract renewals and special claims
Maintain positive relations with owners, residents and their representatives, neighborhood
groups and local governments
Perform rent adjustments including budget analysis
Monitor physical inspection results in collaboration with local contract specialists
Maintain customer files and maintain records in accordance with policy
Work requires the ability to meet deadlines consistently and accurately
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
2 years minimum of professional office experience
Associates degree or equivalent experience in lieu
Ability to obtain knowledge of HUD rules and regulations pertaining to the HUD Section 8 project-based housing program through the training program provided
Proficiency in the use of MS Office, Excel
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements
US citizenship is required
Property management/Section 8/Housing experience
Existing knowledge of HUD rules and regulations
